To strengthen our team of 5 we are currently seeking a well-rounded Senior Data Scientist who can contribute to all aspects of our growth: Quant Excellence, People Leadership, Project Management.
You will be expected to lead projects in research, development, and delivery of machine learning algorithms such as banking product recommender systems, payment fraud detection, and quantitative decision-support tools and services.
Typical projects include the full data science lifecycle, including data extraction from transactional sources and transformation for analytical purpose. You will provide hands-on leadership to projects working with large datasets and extensive timeseries such as financial market data, transactions data and client interaction profiles, employing various statistical and numerical methods to analyse both structured and semi-structured data to develop predictive models.
As our technology is generally delivered as packaged software or as a service in the cloud, it is important that you are experienced in and can lead others hands-on to perform the software development life-cycle professionally and efficiently.
Assistance in the marketing of our offerings and taking a leading role in consulting to clients is also a part of the job description. You are therefore expected to possess strong communication skills in addition to excellent technical capabilities.
To be a successful candidate, you must fulfil the following requirements:
University degree in computer science, math, physics, engineering or comparable numerical fields
Passion for applying technology to solve business problems
Experienced in the financial services industry in either a quantitative role, technology role or business analyst role
Experience in project leadership & coordination, client communication (including senior management levels), and successful project delivery
Experience in executing the full data science lifecycle in a big data context
Well founded in statistics, data science methods and algorithms
Knowledge of multiple programming languages is beneficial (Python, R, Matlab)
Substantial experience in applying modern big data and data science tools such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow and Apache Spark
Knowledge of datastores (SQL or NoSQL)
Strong communication skills in English and the ability to make coherent technical arguments; working proficiency in German is a must
