Student Opportunity in Software Support

swissQuant, an award winning and market-proven provider of wealth management solutions, is looking for a dedicated computer science student who wants to learn and practice new skills supporting one of our latest products for 1-2 evenings a week.

You will get internal training with complete focus on just one product, using your newly learned product skills in combination with your existing Linux and troubleshooting skills to support clients in case of need, and to further expand the already existing test environment. You will join a team of motivated support engineers, who will help you find your way. This is a part time position (20 - 40%), and it is focused on evening work between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. but will require some flexible day-time work to get started.

To be a successful candidate, you must fulfil the following requirements:

  • Linux knowledge. You do not need to be an expert, but you should be ready to learn and work with the console

  • Java understanding. You do not need to program, the solution is already done, but you do need to recognize what is interesting out of a support point of view when reading exceptions stored in logfiles

  • Customer focus. You will be an important link between swissQuant and the clients. Understanding the customer and working with them for the best possible solution will be your task

  • Strong communication skills in English. You will write and talk English in your customer engagements

  • Ability to work in Switzerland
